Bop Design, a growing San Diego based digital marketing agency is seeking freelance WordPress developers to help the development team execute projects successfully. An ideal candidate is very familiar with WordPress and PHP development but also eager to learn. This role will include deploying edits to live websites, so careful attention to detail is also required.
As a freelancer, we will contact you with projects ranging a couple of hours to multiple days. The projects may not be immediate, but you will be in our pool of talent to help support our client projects.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of WordPress development experience
- 3-5 years of PHP and/or JavaScript development experience
- Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Intermediate knowledge of Git
- Intermediate knowledge of critical plugins like Advanced Custom Fields Pro, Search & Filter Pro, Gravity Forms, and WPML
- Experience with deploying edits from a development/staging environment into a live environment
- Basic knowledge of technical SEO principals
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to Have
- The ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical people and translate client needs into development requirements
- Customer service or project management experience – ability to work with clients and fellow team members toward goal
- Experience with WP Engine and/or Pantheon hosting
- Experience with Elementor page builder
- CPACC or WAS certification / understanding of WCAG standards
- Understanding of Selenium
- QA experience
- Experience working with international development teams
Responsibilities Include
- Deploying edits from a development/staging environment into a live website
- Making edits to existing WordPress websites
- Debug and help with bug fixes both for your own code and others’ code
- Troubleshooting issues with plugins
- Testing plugins for desired functionality
